

Following the switching off of analogue television (TV) services, the existing digital terrestrial television (DTT) frequency channels operating in the 614 – 806 MHz band (600/700 MHz bands) will be migrated to the 470 – 614 MHz band (500 MHz band) (Channel Migration) in order to vacate the 600/700 MHz bands for the provision of high value-added mobile telecommunications services.

| BMOs / IOs or other property managers should engage contractors of their common antenna broadcast distribution (CABD) systems / in-building coaxial cable distribution systems (IBCCDS) to reconfigure the systems from 1 April to 30 November 2021 for receiving and distributing the TV signals transmitted on the new DTT frequencies. | ![]() |
Consistent with the arrangements adopted in the past similar exercises, owners of CABD systems / IBCCDS would need to bear the relevant cost.
Depending on the design of individual CABD systems / IBCCDS, you may need to inform residents / users to rescan the digital TV programme channels on their TV sets / DTT receivers after the completion of the system reconfiguration.
