OFCA participated in the 2020 World 5G Convention jointly hosted by People's Government of Guangdong Province, National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and held between 26 and 28 November 2020. Mr Chaucer Leung, Director-General of Communications, was invited to give a keynote speech online at the 5G and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Forum.
The theme of the event was "5G+ By All For All". It gathered experts, scholars, sector regulators and renowned 5G operators globally for in-depth discussions on the development of the 5G. There were fruitful and insightful discussions on a variety of issues, including digital economy and sustainable development in the 5G era, development of 5G in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and integration of innovative 5G applications into various sectors.
