OFCA participated in the International Regulators' Forum 2020 organised by the International Institute of Communications and hosted by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission from 5 to 7 October 2020 via an online platform. Mr Chaucer Leung, Director-General of Communications, was invited to give a speech and exchange views at the opening panel in respect of telecommunications infrastructure and the regulator's role in ensuring access to technology and information.
The event was joined by about two hundred representatives from various communications regulators in the world. There were fruitful and insightful discussions on a variety of regulatory issues, including measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, telecommunications infrastructure, spectrum assignment model, consumer protection and content regulation.
